Mechanism Of Action Of Fluorometholone 0.1 % Eye Drops
- Fluorometholone is an ophthalmic corticosteroid used for the relief of inflammation located in both the palpebral and bulbar conjunctiva, the cornea, and the anterior segment of the globe of the eye.
Therapeutic Indications Of Fml Eye Drops
- Fluorometholone is used to treat eye inflammation and irritation caused by allergies.
Method Of Administration Of Fml Eye Drops
- Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
- Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
- The recommended dose is 1 or 2 drops into the affected eye(s) 2 to 4 times a day
- Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
- If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
- If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
- Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.
Undesirable Side Effects Of Fml Eye Drops
- Although the following side effects are not common in everyone, some patients may complain from:
- Mild stinging and/or burning
- Elevation of the pressure in the eye (intraocular pressure)
- Mild irritation
- Redness

- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
- Your doctor will discuss the possible risks and benefits of using this medicine during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Warnings & Special Precautions while Taking Fml Eye Drops
- Before using fluorometholone, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.
- Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: eye infections, recent eye surgery, cataracts, glaucoma (open-angle type), severe nearsightedness (myopia), and diabetes.
- After you apply this drug, your vision may become temporarily blurred. Do not drive, use machinery, or do any activity that requires clear vision until you are sure you can perform such activities safely.
Storage Conditions Of Fml Eye Drops
- Store below 25°c
- Don’t refrigerate
- After opening the drops are safe for the eye for a period of 28 days. After this, using the drops can cause serious damage to the eye as bacteria may have been introduced.
- Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
- Store in the original package to protect from moisture.
- Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the box/blisters/label. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.
